TRANSFER EXTREME POWER
The transmission's transfer gears are responsible for sending power to the rear dif via the driveshaft. Drag racing and/or very high power levels often results in gear failure or twisting/failure of the transfer output shaft at the driveshaft splines. Upgrading the transfer gears is essential for motorsports or street applications driven hard with extreme power levels.
XShift transfer gears are machined from high strength steel and REM ISF (superfinishing) treated for the most demanding applications. Designed to support over 1200Nm of torque (885ft-lb). Available in either straight cut or helical tooth profiles. Straight cut gears are best used for racing because they operate with less power loss but will make a very audible whine. Helical cut gears are more suitable for street use due to the reduced gear whine. Because the helical gear tooth profile has a shallow angle and a large tooth size these gears will still operate with some audible noise but considerably less than the straight cut version.
Select from 1.0 or 1.1 ratio depending on the rear diff ratio used (Use 1.1 only with 3.54 rear diff ratio which is the standard factory ratio for MY06+).
The output spline size can be supplied as the standard 26 spline size or a heavy duty 27 spline for additional strength. Using the large spline shaft requires changing to a GM type slip yoke and u-joint and can only be used with aftermarket driveshafts using replaceable Spicer type U-joints.
XShift have designed these transfer gears to separate the gear portion from the shaft portion allowing for individually replaceable components either for lower cost upgrades or ratio changes down the road or in the case of damage or wear.
